This is the the fourth watch and my first Grand Seiko from Seiya-san. The service has always been top notch, customer first. This SBGM221 is more beautiful in person than I could imagine. I’m looking forward to visiting the store in person soon. Excellent price for such a beautiful and well constructed watch.
Pictures give you an idea, but you still need to see these in person as you may hear.
Everything looks good and new. -3 seconds per day on wrist, +2 second lying flat.
The caseback sinks into my 7" wrist, so the 13.7 mm thickness isn't as bad as a slab sided case like Longines Ultra Chron diver or Tudor BB. Wears more like 12 mm thickness.
My package was held in customs until I submitted paperwork highlighting details and purchase receipt and it was over the Xmas/New years break. So bad timing combined with a random check. Got it safely in the end.
The SBGM221 is an amazing watch with an unbelievable level of finishing. It looks great in nearly any setting. And there is no better customer service than that provided by Seiya Japan. I am repeat customer and would go nowhere else for Grand Seiko.
Perfect! This watch is unlike anything I’ve ever handled; even when compared to other Grand Seikos. The quality of the finish on the hands and indices is outstanding. The watch itself works well in both casual and more formal settings, never looking out of place. And the customer service is, as always, the best! Thank you again!
